As most already know, the City of Groveland and the Palisades HOA Board have both signed the agreement to purchase the former golf course property and the associated buildings. This should be completed within the next 90 days, so technically the HOA does not own the property yet. While we are waiting for the transaction to be completed, the Board has formed a Rules Committee to research and make recommendations on what can and cannot be done now, and in the future, on the common areas. This committee is made up of seven current homeowners and they will be meeting, discussing and reaching out to other communities to develop the rules and regulations.
The Rules Committee will work hand-in-hand with the current Use Committee who works with homeowners to determine what activities they would enjoy. This will most likely be done in several phases as we progress through the process. The Committee is reaching out to the City of Groveland immediately to request permission for residents to walk on the property as well as walk their dogs on the property prior to receiving title. We will notify you when that permission is granted. Obviously, all dogs in the neighborhood must be on a leash and the owner must clean up after them.
As the HOA gains more access to the common areas and the property begins to be cleaned up and the area becomes safer, other things will be considered. All activities must be in accordance with our current covenants, insurance liability coverage, local and state regulations, consideration of all residents and of course, common sense. Stay tuned.
